Public Comment Period: Draft Voluntary Emissions Limit Order

Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency (SRCAA) has issued a draft Voluntary Emission Limit order for Melcher Manufacturing, located at 6017 E. Mission, Spokane, WA.  The purpose of the order is to limit facility-wide potential to emit emissions of styrene to below major source thresholds.  Upon issuance of the final order, Melcher Manufacturing will be reclassified as an area source of hazardous air pollutants under section 112(a) of the Clean Air Act and no longer subject to the requirements of 40 CFR 63, Subpart WWWW.  In addition, Melcher will no longer be subject to the Air Operating Permit program under Chapter 173-401 WAC and Title V of the Federal Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. 

Additional information regarding this draft voluntary emission limit order, including the permit application and relevant supporting information, may be viewed at the SRCAA office, 1610 S Technology Blvd, Suite 101, during normal business hours, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.

Public Comment Period: The public is invited to comment on the draft order by submitting written comments to SRCAA at the address given above no later than 4:30 pm on June 24, 2022.  A public hearing may be held if SRCAA determines, within the comment period, that there is significant public interest.  Requests for a public hearing must be submitted within the comment period.  Any such request must be submitted to SRCAA and must indicate the interest of the person/entity making the request and why a hearing is warranted.
