Tom Brattebo; 20 Years of Clean Air Advocacy

It’s Earth Month, a perfect time to recognize Tom Brattebo, our longtime volunteer, advisory council member, and current board member. For over 20 years, Tom has been an active advocate for clean air. As our AmeriCorps volunteer, he first introduced the No-Idle Zone program to schools across Spokane County. To say that Tom has a long history of advocating for clean air would be an understatement!

Tom is passionate about teaching and inspiring our youth about environmental stewardship. As a volunteer with Spokane County Water Resources, he himself is rewarded. He shared that, “the enthusiasm these young people have for doing better things for their environment gives me a lot of hope for the future and satisfaction knowing I may have been a part of their enthusiasm.”

Thank you, Tom, for teaching Spokane County’s youth about the interconnectedness of our air, water, and land resources and that they can make a difference in keeping our resources clean and healthy for generations to come!
