Spring Air Isn’t Always Fresh

View of downtown Spokane from Kendall Yards

We receive air quality complaints throughout the year, however we experience an uptick in air quality complaints in the Spring. We believe this is because people are opening windows and spending more time outdoors. Most of the complaints that are filed with our agency are concerning impacts from smoke, dust, and odors.

Odors can be a complex mixture of gases, vapors, and particles. It is possible for certain odorous emissions to have an impact on physical health, while others may not. If a strong and persistent odor is preventing you from enjoying your personal property, you have rights. You can take the following steps to file an air quality complaint.

  • Use ourĀ Online Complaint form
  • Call (509)-477-4727. If calling after hours, leave a message. Please provide the location of the incident, along with the date and time it was detected.
