Enter to Win a Husqvarna Electric Lawn Mower
On summer’s hottest days, emissions from motor vehicles, gasoline engines like lawnmowers, fumes from paints, solvents and industrial operations photo-chemically react in the presence of sunlight to create ground-level or “bad” ozone.
To help you "Mow Down Air Pollution", Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency is giving one (1) lucky winner a new Husqvarna Electric Lawn Mower, valued at $539.00. We would like to give a special thank you to Country Homes Power for donating such a great, highly-rated electric lawnmower.
The contest runs July 1, 2018 - August 31, 2018. Please complete the below form to be entered into the drawing. One entry per person. Must be 18 years or older at the time of entry, other contest rules apply. Winner to be contacted on September 5, 2018.
By reducing the amount of gas-powered lawn and garden equipment in Spokane, we will be on our way to reducing ground-level ozone. Additional tips to help cut down on ground-level ozone include:
- Drive less.
- Refuel in the evening. This keeps ozone-forming vapors (volatile organic compounds – or VOCs) out of the air during the heat of the day.
- Hold off using gas-powered lawn equipment until evening.
- If you use a charcoal barbecue, start it with an electric probe instead of lighter fluid.
- Choose paints/solvents and other household products that contain low or zero VOC content.
