Position Title: Air Quality Specialist (Inspector) I / Air Quality Specialist (Inspector) II Closing Date: July 7, 2008 at 4:30 pm Hourly Rate: Inspector I - $19.00 to $25.00 / Inspector II - $22.35 to $29.41
Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency is accepting applications for an Air Quality Specialist, which may be filled at Level I or II, depending on qualifications of the prospective candidate.
Air Quality Specialist (Inspector) I Job Summary: Inspects a variety of air pollution sources such as gasoline stations and auto body shops for compliance with air quality regulations. Inspects renovation/demolition projects for compliance with asbestos regulations. Responds to complaints regarding outdoor burning, smoky woodstoves, dust, odors, and asbestos. Interacts extensively with the public and businesses for education, compliance, and enforcement purposes. Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, science, engineering or a closely related field with one (1) or more years of professional experience in an environmental field preferred. Additional qualifying experience may substitute, year for year, for education.
Air Quality Specialist (Inspector) II Job Summary: Same duties as the Inspector I, plus generally serves more in a lead capacity and may perform inspections of a more complex nature. Minimum requirements: Same as the Inspector I, but with three (3) or more years of professional experience in an environmental field preferred. Additional qualifying experience may substitute, year for year, for education. Valid driver's license required.
