Clean Air Kids

Are you and EnviroKid?

Team up with other Spokane-area kids to learn about the environment and why it's important to for all of us to protect it.

EnviroKids’ Club members will receive an activity in the mail four times a year.  Complete the activity, and return it to the Club headquarters and you will earn points towards a special prize.  Information about the new point system and the prizes will available soon.

Currently there are over 350 club members, and EnviroKids' Club is growing every day!  Want to join the FREE kids club?  It's easy to do.  With your parents permission, complete the sign up form below and click the submit button and within two-four weeks you'll receive a "Welcome Packet."

Now let’s learn a little more about some of the topics we will be exploring......

Air isn’t something that you may think about all of the time.  But air is a precious resource.  Did you know that you can live about 3 weeks without food, 3 days without water, but only 3 minutes without air!  Kids' club members will explore what air is, what makes it dirty, and things you can do to help keep it clean.

Garbage & Recycling - There is no such thing as throwing garbage away…each of us makes about 5 pounds of it everyday.  You can help to have less by remembering the 3 R’s – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

Plants & Animals share the Earth with humans.  With the Kids Club activities, we’ll explore the forests, mountains, oceans and cities where different plants and animals live.

Water - We assume water will come out of the faucet every time we turn it on.  What if no water flowed out of the faucet or it was really dirty?  We need clean water to live and we like clean water for playing - swimming, squirt guns, and running through sprinklers.  We all need to make sure we do things to protect our water.

Weather is always changing, and it affects our lives every day. Whether it be snow, rain or shine, weather determines what we wear, how we get to school, and how we spend our time outdoors.

You & Your Environment - Ever wonder how you are affected by the environment? You will learn how the environment affects your health, your community, and what you can do to make Spokane County a great place to live and play!

The EnviroKids’ Club is for children in grades K-6, who live in Spokane County.  EnviroKids’ is a program of the American Lung Association of Washington, Gonzaga Environmental Outreach, National Weather Service (NWS), Spokane Aquifer Joint Board, Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency, Spokane County Water Resources, Spokane Regional Solid Waste System, WA Dept. of Ecology, and West Valley Outdoor Learning Center.
